State Ballot Measures
Amendment V: YES (Reduces age from 25 to 21 to serve in Colorado General Assembly)
Amendment W: YES (Makes ballot more concise and reader friendly for Judicial retention)
Amendment X: YES (Changes definition of hemp in case Feds make it legal.)
Amendment Y: NO (In Colorado at the moment, this is not a great problem and there are better solutions than what is proposed. We want fair redistricting, but worry that this is not the right solution. Let’s keep working on this one.)
Amendment Z: NO (In Colorado at the moment, this is not a great problem and there are better solutions than what is proposed. We want fair redistricting, but worry that this is not the right solution. Let’s keep working on this one, too!)
Amendment A: YES (Prohibits slavery in Colorado.)
Amendment 73: YES (Funds public schools which we support. It is worth noting that dealing with funding for public education through Constitutional amendments is the wrong approach and this adds one more amendment to an already convoluted and crazy system.)
Amendment 74: NO (A ploy by the oil and gas industry to make it impossible to regulate oil and gas development for health, safety, zoning and quality life!)
Amendment 75: NO (Would allow increased campaign spending when one candidate self funds over $1 million. This is a “band-aid for a gusher!” We need to get money out of campaigns, not bring more in.)
Proposition 109: NO, NO, NO! (Takes money from human services and education to pay for needed transportation without providing any additional revenue stream. This is the worst…trust us!)
Proposition 110: YES (Provides a sales tax increase to fund needed transportation infrastructure. We acknowledge that sales taxes are regressive and it would be better to fund transportation improvements through user fees and carbon taxes.)
Proposition 111: YES (a consumer protection measure to reduce the maximum cost for payday loans.)
Proposition 112: YES (Creates setbacks for oil and gas fracking operations to protect neighborhoods and human beings.)
Local Measures
County Ballot Issue 1A: YES (Funds critical jail updates and mental health services.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2C: YES (A tax on oil and gas pollution.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2D: YES (Directs soda tax dollars to City health programs)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2E: NO (We don’t want to make recalls easier. We have elections for that purpose.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2F: YES (Requires County Clerk to verify, as possible, petition signatures.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2G: NO (We don’t want to turn petitioning over to the “web”. Street level petitioning creates face to face democratic interactions.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2H: NO (We fail to see the urgency of this measure.)
City of Boulder Ballot Issue 2I: NO (Rushes things for no good reason.)
Urban Drainage District and Flood Control Issue 7G: YES (Tax and spend liberals who like hiking and biking support this!)
