Get Out The Vote: Our Lives Depend On It!

After the Republican National Convulsion we are more motivated than ever to get out the vote. The only way to stop the interlocking crises of COVID, recession, racism and climate change and Republican fear mongering is to get involved NOW. Join us in our Get Out The Vote efforts to remove Donald Trump and all his down ballot Republican enablers. Deadlines for mail-in ballots and voter registration are approaching. As you will see, despite COVID keeping us from canvassing, there is so much that can be done from home.

Now is the time to make sure you are registered to vote and if your state has options for absentee ballots to request your ballot. Deadlines are coming up. Helpful resources include:

Get out the Blue vote by working with one or more of these options. 

  • Blue Wave Postcard Movement https://www.bluewavepostcards.org/ We at MWR are writing postcards to states where Vote by Mail registrations could be the decisive factor in how many Democrats get elected. You sign up online and they send you postcards or you can pick them up locally from neighbors who are already participating. It’s rewarding and you can do it from your home. We have recruited many of our friends to join us. 

  • democrats.org Go to this site and click on your state to see what is needed. There are opportunities to text fellow voters, make donations, and help get out the vote. 

  • Vote Save America https://votesaveamerica.com/ The election may be decided by how many voters turn out and vote in 12 crucial states. These are states that can be flipped and where Senate races are close. At Vote Save America you can adopt a state and help citizens in that state get to the polls on Election Day. 

  • Swing Left https://swingleft.org/ Swing Left also focuses on the 12 Super States to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, as well as to flip the Senate and state houses to Democratic control. We live in one of these states, so we are calling voters, writing letters and contributing to candidates. Whether you live in a Super State or not, you can help Democrats win by working with Swing Left.

  • Supermajority https://supermajority.com/ This group connects women across the country to work for a more equitable future and get women to vote for the issues that are important to them.

  • The Democratic Party in your area Contact them and see what help they need. Having poll watchers will be imperative to insure a secure election. Help recruit a new generation of poll watchers if you can’t do it.

  • Donate Money! Candidates need money now to get their message and their voters out.
